How to get prepared for Medical Imaging and X-rays?

Preparations for Examinations in the Lumbar spine / Sacrum:

• Patients under 12 years don’t need preparation.
• Patients over 12 years must proceed as follows:

1. Have a very light dinner the night before the examination. Not later than 7pm.
2. The night before the examination and one hour after your dinner you must use an enema to clean the intestines.
3. You must take a laxative one hour after using the enema.
4. You must fast and follow the aforementioned steps before assisting to your appointment.

If your appointment is in the afternoon:

1. Have a light breakfast at least 5 hours before the examination (avoid dairy products)
2. One hour after dinner you must use an enema to clean the intestines.
3. You must take a laxative of your choice.
