Preparations for Examinations in the Lumbar spine / Sacrum:
- Patients under 12 years don’t need preparation.
- Patients over 12 years must proceed as follows:
- Have a very light dinner the night before the examination. Not later than 7pm.
- The night before the examination and one hour after your dinner you must use an enema to clean the intestines.
- You must take a laxative one hour after using the enema.
- You must fast and follow the aforementioned steps before assisting to your appointment.
If your appointment is in the afternoon:
- Have a light breakfast at least 5 hours before the examination (avoid dairy products)
- One hour after dinner you must use an enema to clean the intestines.
- You must take a laxative of your choice.
